Wearing clothes is an inherent part of our daily existence. As a between space, clothing not only separates one’s body from the living world. But how we experience and engage in it as human beings. From this intimate relationship with body, a language evolves that not only conveys words but also emotions as to how we view, touch and engage with clothing as part of our humanity.

In this sense Shrunk speaks of the ageing female body – the co-existence between vitality and decline, illustrating how one’s physical presence shrinks and yet there remains the beauty of being and still becoming… I drew on improvisational embroidery - using colonial, bullion, pistil and drizzle knots, see, chain and manipulated blanket stitch and couching appliqué and fabric manipulation.
